How to Blow Up a Pipeline
Propulsive, suspenseful, and inspiring, the film is a fierce and tense wake up call about the destruction of our environment and what it takes to get people to listen and act. Not just an after-school special that means to teach you lessons, the film also works as a sharply-executed and emotional thriller.

A Thousand and One
You didn’t need a film role to prove Teyana Taylor’s extraordinary talent, but her performance here just sends her superstar levels to the stratosphere. Though it has an outstanding cast as a whole along with heart-wrenching twists and turns, Taylor is the heart and soul of this film and makes every moment on screen count.

Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret.
Though there’s a lot to enjoy about this adaptation of Judy Blume’s classic novel, Rachel McAdams’ performance is hands-down the standout element of the film. Simultaneously heartwarming and heartbreaking, McAdams is truly pitch-perfect in her role and commands every scene she’s in with immense motherly comfort.

The First Omen
Potentially in the running for the best prequel ever, and absolutely one of the best religious horror films in years, The First Omen almost has no business being as fantastic as it is. Nell Tiger Free is an obvious standout as the film’s lead, and co-writer/director Arkasha Stevenson does an unbelievably good job on a debut feature film.

Magic Mike's Last Dance
Each Magic Mike film has a different tone from the one before it, with the first being more serious and the second being a raucous fun time. The third and allegedly final entry successfully blends the two tones and mixes in a truly steamy romance between Channing Tatum and Salma Hayek Pinault, with undeniable chemistry that is a joy to watch unfold.

Definitely, Maybe
Sorry Deadpool fans, this is Ryan Reynolds at the top of his game, as a rom-com lead. Isla Fisher makes up the other half of the movie’s main couple and they make for a dynamic and funny pair for this sweet and multi-dimensional film.

Drinking Buddies
One of the better movies to come out of the mumblecore boom, with Olivia Wilde and Jake Johnson’s chemistry really doing the heavy lifting to sell this romantic dramedy.
