Actually the false narrative about "toxic fandom" being involved in the cancellation in the Acolyte has been dismissed by Alan Bergman, co-chair of Disney Entertainment. In reality the viewership numbers were not high enough to warrant spending more money on this massively expensive series for a season 2. He says "... it wasn't where it needed to be, given the cost structure of that title, quite frankly to go and make a season 2".

Quit trying to whip up more controversy around it's cancelling. It was simply a bad show that few watched. It was rejected by the fans.

The music in the show is much better than the semi cringe use of a hit song from when I was 11 years old in the trailer. I guess the song was released before ROTJ. People don't want modern pop music in Star Wars.

There isn't a civil war. It's a small group of agitators who can't handle being told "NO" about a season 2 of the universally hated acolyte. Star Wars Explained has lost all respect. I think they will find that the small amount of people who liked the acolyte isn't going to sustain their channel.

You should call your article "A New Cope" or "The Cope Strikes Back"... maybe even more fitting would be "The Rise Of Cope". You can change your metrics all you want but the show is still a complete failure. I guess you could say it is a super popular show... if your metric is cringe. I predict that over time, interest will wane to the point that when it's officially cancelled by Disney nobody will even notice. Look at what happened to the failed Willow reboot Lucasfilm attempted. Such a failure that Disney removed it from streaming because they didn't want to pay royalties on such apathetic bomb. This is also the acolyte's future. Dustbin of history.
