The director of 'The Marvel's' (and other directors of other MCU films) has already made public that the film that was pitched, written and filmed was not the version the studio released for theatrical viewing. The studio made changes and made the movie something different (and according to insider reviews, not as good) to satisfy production schedules and movie tie-in agreements outside of the filmmakers and producers control.

I say this not so much in defense of the film as we know it, but in defense to the actual creatives that worked on it.
