There have been plenty of years when the best Picture should have went to a different movie in some opinions. At the end of the day, the viewers aren't picking the winners but a group of people who say they know more than us. Even to be nominated in the category holds valor in my opinion. The winner is sometimes up for debate because we all have various opinions of what we like. The fact still remains that all 3 films up for the award that year were worthy of receiving it but someone has to win and it's not always who you want to win. Still today, 30 years later if one of these films are on tv I will watch them because they are 3 excellent films that have aged gracefully.
