I’m feel like the remake will remain faithful to the original’s charm.

Also the old animation is not their only reason for the remake, it’s because the original anime’s pacing has gotten out of control and can feel very bloated at times.

Wit’s version is to have a more balanced pacing for people to dive in the series while not having sit through 1000+ eps

under ideal pacing, the original anime should not have reached 1000 eps during wano arc but it’s not all their fault, that’s the risk or running so closely to the Manga and not trying to catch up to it.
