Tom predates the ring therefore, he is unaffected by it.

He has dealt with his own lessons enough to realize the ring isn't his responsibility.

Never the less, he has a kind heart and he helps those who wonder into his realm.

He wouldn't have accepted guardianship of the ring. Not his karma/ responsibility.

He is on a slightly high level of existence, which gives him abilities similar to "father nature". He isn't "archangel" level, yet.

Lady Goldberry is his soul partner, not soul mate. She is the wind in his sails. It isn't a sexual relationship. Brother - Sister. Equals.

As we evolve and deal with our shadow selfs we move past our inner Gollum, Saruman, Sauron. Tom has done that.

My intermediate goal is to achieve Bombadil status. He and his lady are the best characters on Middle Earth.
