See AllMarvel Is Removing Thor from Its Continuity, And I Know What's Next For the God of Thunder
They also did it in the 90's. It was ongoing during Infinity Gauntlet, eventually Odinson returned and the human Thor stuck around as Thunderstrike for a while.
And it was Thor's original story for a long time - he was just a human who happened to find a magic hammer that transformed him into his superhero alter ego. Loki may or may not have been an actual god, that was unclear, but many of the other Asgardian characters were also humans who found magical artifacts that empowered them. This was eventually retconnend that the artifacts they found sealed their own real powers rather than granting them new powers.
During both stretches Thor had a weakness he doesn't otherwise have - if he's prevented from holding the hammer for 15 seconds he reverts to his human form.
The Grossest Detail of Wolverine's Claws Never Made The Movies, And That's For the Best
It's long been established he *can*, it's just not easy. Wolverine #900 (in a bit reprinted from Spider-Man Extra the year before) covered how quickly he recovered once he managed to get drunk - after downing an unknown number of full bottles to get there he was sober within two s when he stopped.
Wolverine and Havok: Meltdown had a bet between the title characters which Wolverine won, the issue ended with Wolverine telling Havok he was going to have a very expensive night out.

Both of your examples are things that can happen. Cats have geometry on their side and require some swelling or injury to the foot. But front fanged snakes are only protected by behavior, they can injure themselves with their fangs, particularly when striking at prey that's faster than them.
Avengers: Endgame's Portal Scene Is Perfect, But The Original Cut Would Have Solved A Massive Plot Hole
Just because the shots are shown in sequence does not mean they occur in the same sequence. We first see Falcon, the royal family, and the Dora Milaje arrive with the Wakandan army immediately at their backs. But when we later see Winter Soldier, Groot, and Scarlet Witch arrive they ALSO have the same army immediately at their backs, meaning they arrived at roughly the same time as T'Chala. We see the Ravagers and Asgardians arrive after the Wakandans, and the sorcerers last, but as each arrives we see the others arriving in the background simultaneously.
This method of time expansion was first seen in 90's comic book movies like Punisher and Daredevil and was arguably perfected in the Sam Raimi Spider-man movies. It tries to capture the visual storytelling of a comic book without the temporal limitations of real time film, and allows a large amount of visual information to be conveyed without a commensurate amount of time ing for the characters themselves.
Simply put, without stretching seconds into minutes there's no way the audience can be shown who is involved. Many of these characters we barely see during the fight, most getting one or two scenes and some like Drax, Mantis, Howard, and the named Ravagers never even get speaking parts, just flashes of action.
Star Trek's Pilot Episode Started A Negative Trend That Took Over 50 Years To Break
This was fixed years ago in the Enterprise episode Bound, which established the Orion as female dominated via pheromone compulsion. The slave girl thing is a show for outsiders - it tricks males into staying close to Orion females long enough for the control to set in.
