I'm my opinion, the reason why this film didn't work for me had nothing to do with Harrison Ford's age, in fact, I was curious as to how his character would be able to pull off this conquest. For me, it was the whole final act that ruined it. *SPOILER ALERT* If they would've made it to where the villains thought the Dial was going to work and then, surprise, it doesn't and they are still in 1969, would've been ironic while still making it entertaining. Time travel had no place in Indiana Jones. The concept of a relic that was rumored to turn back time is acceptable because there were so many moments in history where mankind believed things were a certain way that science has disproven, but to actually do it, did not work for me. Plus I felt that the chase sequence between Indy, Helena, the villains and her fiancé was a bit annoying and there was too much going on that didn't need to be. There were also certain moments in the film that they felt the need to explain things to the audience as if we aren't smart enough to understand. If those issues were corrected or eliminated all together, the movie would've been an enjoyable romp instead of an irritable tone at the theater. As for the acting, cinematography, music and overall story, it wasn't that bad. It just really jumped ship at times when it clearly shouldn't have.
