I have been reading these books since 1993. I have physically read them all at least three times and listened to them on audiobook at least four times through. I wanted to love this screen adaptation. Unfortunately, the only way I can get through it is to pretend that it is another version of the story, which is hinted at in the original source material. A book called "Mirrors of the Wheel" explains alternate universes wherein the same characters and stories occur with sometimes small and sometimes huge differences. It is the only way I can get through it. Otherwise, I would just cry.
