Both Dune movies were masterpieces, purists of cinema will understand this, my thinking is cinema is like seeing a new band, the 70s, some of the public hated punk and anything new, nowadays, what do they say it's cult I loved it, I also agree that making a 1 and 2 version of a movie, the second can be shall we say has run out of ideas, one movie that did break that mold was The French Connection with Gene Hackman, I have it in my dvd collection as an all time great, finally I think cinema is all about opening the mind, thinking of films like Babylon, go to the cinema, and look at each movie as an individual piece, wish I could share my collection with you.
