They confirmed what they are, they are all of the original residents, minus the original incarnation of jade and Miranda, they made a deal for immortality in exchange for the lives of the kids, jade and Miranda have been reincarnating time after time, failure after failure to "set things right" how exactly isn't clear, but they definitely revealed what the monsters are (the humanoid ones at least)
