See AllThe More We Learn About Yellowjackets' Wilderness Timeline, The More The Adult Storyline Doesn't Make Sense
I find myself struggling with the premise of this article. While the adult storyline definitely suffers at times because things can’t be acknowledged until they come up in the teen storyline, this article seems to take issue with the overall structure, and concept of the show.
The disconnect of the two storylines is the point. If the show was over, and these storylines weren’t married, that would be unsatisfying, and this article would make sense. As we currently stand, the show is still airing, we still have a few more months in the wilderness, and life post-rescue. It’s reasonable to assume that their relationships will continue to develop, and things will happen, and be revealed, that will help to make sense of things. We don’t have the whole story right now; if we did, the show would end. The tension from the storytelling and different timelines is a key point of the show.
It’s also disappointing to refer to Shauna as a villain. It feels super surface level, and the least interesting way to view such a complicated character. She’s not particularly likable, and that’s the point, and this isn’t a show that’s looking at characters as heroes, or villains.
