See AllHonor Among Thieves 2 Can Resolve A Major Story By Adding A Missing Dungeons & Dragons Class
Were these in the movie already? Eldrich Knight, Kensai, Ranger, plain ole Fighter, and Monk (last two are my favorites in particular). Some of those may have already been in the movie and some may have been retired in 5.0, tho.
Oh, and that one guy from underground with the two swords and the weird name. Him too.
10 Harsh Realities Of Rewatching Forrest Gump, 30 Years Later
(Edited per Andy's comment. Thanks for pointing out my error!)
This review seems oddly vicious and critical of a movie about how a simple guy could lead an extraordinary life by staying true to his convictions. But the implication that Gump has an easy, happy life is unfounded and I think counter to what the message really is. Consider the following:
1. Gump watched Jenny, the girl he loved, struggle with tremendous pain her entire life and could only stand helplessly by
2. His best friend died in his arms in Vietnam.
3. He had a child but didn't know until he was already several years old.
4. He was acutely aware of his mental disability. Just recall when he couldn't even bring himself to ask Jenny if their child was smart, brought close to tears when he was told he was the smartest in his class.
5. He was shot. And just because he had a great attitude about it doesn't mean it was incredibly painful and terrifying.
6. He did marry the love of his life, but knowing the entire time that she was dying, soon leaving him a widower and a single Dad.
I'm sure there's more but that's all I could come up with off the top of my head. I guess the point is that Forrest Gump is deeper than it is typically given credit for and defies easy categorization. Its an intelligent, honest, self-aware movie and any review should assume all aspects of the film are intentional.
So while I think revisiting a movie with fresh eyes after a considerable time has ed can be worthwhile, this review has unfortunately made sweeping generalizations that deliberately ignore those parts of the movie that provide contradictory evidence.
But all this aside, maybe it's best to just enjoy the movie and forego the intellectual interpretations. So maybe just pop some popcorn, find it on Netflix, and just call it movie night. Its what Forrest would do, right?
