Meh, if you notice this has an audience score closer to 60% for this, while it was 95% for band of brothers. That is because even though it is an important historic event that is much grittier than what is depicted in Bridge Over the River Kwai, this series chose to focus on adultery and sexual drama instead of the suffering of the soldiers. It draws it out and makes it boring, makes the main character unlikable. If it is historically accurate, chose another main character. If it is just garbage you added shame.

Rand wasn't Mad in the books, when Nynaeve discovered how to heal madness she found that Rand was protected from the taint. He never went mad and was not endanger of going mad, which showed that many should have had faith in him, being the true dragon. His struggle was with self identity. When he came to with being Lews Therin, he was at peace, and came into his full power. This show doesn't want a rand like that. It wants everyone to be justified in mistrust or hatred of men.

Who could say, book Thom Merrilin doesn't exist in the wheel of prime. He was probably a stable hand who was in love with Gawyns father, Taringall Damodres. I probably just gave Rafe an idea.

That excuse doesn't work when all they want to do is tell their own story. They add characters and plotlines. If they had more real estate you wouldn't see more source material, you would see more Rafe Judkins variety hour.

As someone that has read the books 2.5 times, and loves the story...who cares? For real book fans this thing fell apart in season 1. If you did read the books and can somehow stomach the show, it is likely because you have some deep rooted misandry and prefer extreme politics over storytelling.

You can't talk as if this show has a plan. It doesn't, they are just doing whatever they want, mad libing episode to episode. Which would be fine but they need to rename it, don't sell us the wheel of time and give us the Rafe Judkins man hating variety hour.

Asmodian was the weakest male forsaken, I'm pretty sure Lanfere tells us that in the books. But, he was an interesting and complex male character who even had a bit of redemption, so obviously this show would not be interested.

Yea good point, but that is the point, the women of this show can do anything, the males are an inconvenience that the writer ignores or demenes as much as he can possibly get away with.

Yea even more than just Rands memories mixing with Lews Theirins in the books, the books make a point that Rand doesn't have peace, and doesn't come into his full power until he allows the memories in and fully accepts that he is Lews Therin.

It depends, are you talking about the books or the TV show? In the TV show Rand barely exists as a character, and isn't convincingly either because the show hates men. In the books The Dragon (Rand, not Egwene) had deep historical ties to the Aiel, and there singing. They were called the people of the dragon.

It is incredibly different, and it is once again a setup to rob Rand. With only a female Choden Kal Rand won't be the one to cleanse the taint. I'm sure they have saved that for their chosen Dragon, Egwene.

People who do not realize that this TV series doesn't even resemble the story from the books never read the books and have little invested in the story. If they are entertained by the TV series they are likely misandrists.

This is Rafe Judkins Presents His Personal Take On Fantasy While Stealing The Title And Character From Writers With Talent. That might be too long. Sucife it to say, whatever this dog excrement is, it isn't The Wheel of Time. Which No way Rafe or any of his writers actually read. That is how they keep surprising themselves that they ruined the plot beyond repair.
