It's amusing to me that people still comment on these award shows as if they expect them to operate with total fairness and in the complete absence of industry politics. As if that were somehow possible, or has ever been accomplished. They serve exclusively as a wind gauge/barometer of the industry and nothing more. You'll get much greater utility from them the moment you begin viewing them this way.
