For me, a Street spin-off would be much more interesting than another Hondo's Show, and I must say that SWAT is one of my favorite show but it lost too much when its best character, which is Street, left the show.

Buck was also straight, and in a matter of seconds, that changed. In the series, it was never established that Eddie was entirely straight; it was simply assumed, just as it was assumed that Buck was also straight. And yes, Eddie is a character whose sexuality was always rumored. I don't think a person who is straight feels the need to say it out loud, you say it if you try to convince yourself because you have doubts.

Ryan Guzman is not a regular but a main character. The storyline of El Paso is just one part of the Season 8 script, just as Boston and Chimney were also one part of the Season 5 script.

Eddie and Ravi have been working together for a long time, so Ravi is not going to replace Eddie because it has never been said that he will go to live in El Paso, it's just a possibility that he is considering and that is where looking at houses comes in. But I don't think he will go, it would be repeating his plot from season 5.

I think that Eddie and Chris's storylines are conditioned by Gavin McHugh's availability, since he has moved to another city and is now a teenager with a busier life, it must be complicated for him to go to LA to film, so I imagine they will have to film all his/their scenes over several days and fit them into the corresponding episode.
