The simplest explanation has already been done. Captain America and Human Torch. There wasn't really a strong narrative reason for Human Torch to be in Deadpool & Wolverine, it was simply for levity and to say to the audience "Yes, one actor can play two major characters in the MCU so don't be shocked when RDJ comes back as a villain."
