To be fair, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is just a reskinned version of Living Single. Same studio and concept. Living Single was aired a year before the other show; however, the other show had gotten more funding. HIMYM is actually objectively funnier than "friends", however, it is used as a staple of "the best 90s sitcom" when it could be seen as slightly overrated; same as Seinfeld.
