No No, No No No. The last thing Star Wars needs is yet more characters ran into the ground by a fanbase with an impulse to latch onto them and demand to know their ENTIRE life story.
Unless they have more interesting stories to tell with the characters (and no, meeting a digitally de-aged Luke Skywalker for fan service is not an interesting story) they shouldn't do ANYTHING with a character at all.

I agree that the more grounded and minimalist approach to their name and costumes was the right move from a creative standpoint, but to say that them having elaborate costumes would "contradict" the theme they're going for ignores the possibility of highlighting the obligatory nature of the costumes, like some of the villainous Supes in the series are wont to do.
As it stands in the finished product, most of the commentary around costuming tends to redound to "underwear perverts" and other expressions of Ennis' barely suppressed homophobia that he thinks he's cleverly obfuscating when he depicts one of us being hatecrimed as an way to mine cheap pathos out of Hughie.
