Jack I kind of hope they do shelf it. Otherwise if it gets added to the TES and Fallout rotation I don't expect we'll get TES7 for another 30 years. I doubt I'll even be alive for it in that case.

I'm perfectly ok with this. I loved the first game in spite of the combat, not because of it. I'm no stranger to games with hard combat but I just couldn't master it in kcd. The only way I was able to get through the game was by using a mace as my main weapon because then combat just boils down to smashing the enemies heads in over and over. That along with liberal usage of bows and arrows let me get through the game. Hopefully I can actually get the hang of the swords this time lol.

I think the point isn't that the show doesn't need canonical stories but that the fans need to stop constantly begging for them and let the team do what they want as they want whether that be episodic or canonical adventures. Just let them cook essentially. If they feel forced into doing what the fans want the show would lose it's magic.

Honestly, if they decide to continue with the same botw/totk style going forward, I'm probably going to skip them. I dropped totk halfway through because I started getting so bored. It was like the same thing over and over, it just felt super bland after a while, especially after the last game was incredibly similar.

If other people like it, I'm happy for them, but there are so many other open world games that are way better to me, that's not really what I'm looking for in a zelda game.

I've already written the show off as a dud. They've shown they have no interest in adapting The Witcher and instead are using it as a vehicle for Lauren Hissrich's girl power fan fiction. I have no desire to watch an adaptation that doesnt respect the source material. I feel bad that Liam got roped into this fiasco because it isn't his fault, but he walked into a minefield getting casted in a show that's on life and hemorrhaging fans.
