Connery in Dr.No was brilliant and completely invalidates the author's assertion that Brosnan was the first actor to get Bond right on his debut. The same can also be said for Dalton in The Living Daylights, where Bond's character is more faithful to Fleming's portrayal of the character as per the novels.

Brosnan was a really good Bond but his debut falls short of Connery, Dalton, Craig and a strong argument can even be made for Moore in Live And Let Die.
