Some of my friends, growing up.. Used to be on team Batman & such, instead of Supes → because of the exact issue: invulnerability & virtually no real 'stakes'.

Batman IS a man, self taught physically and genius level - respect. Love that guy. But.. Superman is f@#$ing beyond. Hands down. No God - but a fictitious alien creature that looks just like us. Who does bleed red.

I do not want to see some omnipotent being creating & destroying things with the wave of a hand .

Well maybe I do, but not when it's the story of Superman.

He is fallable, he has emotions - he can die, & doesn't live forever.

He relates to us, hard.

I return that relation.

Someone pointed out the 'talking over each other' aspect as well. Leading a little more credence to real hearted convo's.

The opposing dynamic represented in that conversation, does show an arc - and the potential future 'growth' you stated above.

Superman doesn't just protect & serve the American way.. He's all in for human kind, and love for life across the galaxy/it's.
