You will think about this film looooong after viewing it. As far as the comment towards Native American tribes being portrayed as savages, the Native American professor in the movie explains that this "tribe" of 12 are referred to as Troglodytes as inbred, cannibalistic, cave dwellers. They do not even have language and communicate through howls and whistles in their throats. So I thought of them as a completely unique humanoid.
