30 Years Later, The Best War Movie Villain Of All Time Losing At 1994's Oscars Has Aged Terribly
I am one not to mention whether a movie is good, or is not; rather I just say that I liked it, or that I did not. Rather, I prefer to appreciate the art of moviemaking, regardless.
Looking for information on the use of archival footage in Schindler's List, and the reason for some describing it as 'swindler's list', I found this article, with which I wholeheartedly agree, for those of us who know the difference. latimes dot com slash archives slash la-xpm-1994-01-30-ca-16952-story.
"Brilliant": Stephen King Praises Sci-Fi Horror Adaptation Of Classic Novel
I'm sorry but conflating Horror with Sci-fi is a cardinal sin. S.K.s notion of Sci-fi is delinquent in the extreme.
New Mark Wahlberg Thriller Will Make Or Break A Hollywood Partnership After 2 Rotten Movies In 7 Years
I use critics' reviews, sometimes, to determine what movies to favour: Going towards the ones with adverse reviews. Very often, I've found that critics are so far up themselves, they lose objectivity. I like both MG and MW movies but have still to get my head around USA humour. Shooter's conversation with the old recluse was gold. Signs humour made for good SF. However, I have no intentions of seeing a comedy with both of them. However, I wish the producers good fortune.
Gladiator 2's Denzel Washington Reflects On Historical Inaccuracy Of His Character: "Macrinus Wasn't Black"
The reality is that 'historical' movies are undoubtedly fiction. If one doesn't like that fact, no one is forced to view them. However, there are some that do take the p**s: Braveheart, to name but one.
Sequels, imo, are very rarely as good as the original. I enjoyed Braveheart and, no doubt, shall enjoy G2 because I like D.W.'s method...and the escapism.
Dune 3 Return Chances Get Blunt Response From Key Fremen Actor: "I Will Be Very Angry"
Having read the books and having not yet viewed the movies, I couldn't care less. By the way, the cast in the movies is very impressive and that shall be my only motivation for anticipation.
Ridley Scott's 8 History Movies, Ranked Worst To Best (Including Napoleon)
The movie, God's and Kings: Historically, there were Hebrews only. Not until after they entered what later became Israel, were the 12 tribes, including Judah, separately established. So, no: Moses was not a Jew and there was no Israelite escape from Egypt.
The Blair Witch Project Will Finally Be Released The Way The Filmmakers Always Intended 25 Years Later
It'll have to be a radical improvement on the first edition because that was bollocks.
"Listen, Everybody, There Are Some Days…": Tom Hanks Reveals His Warning To Actors About Working With Steven Spielberg
With excellent productions the directors are all too often the 'unsung heroes' and, the 'stars' pick up near-maximum credit - and handsomely paid. Likewise, badly directed productions. Dune (1984) being a typical example, despite the cast and advanced SFX of the day, David Lynch demolished the movie. Let's ensure that the Captain - pun intended - shoulders, rightfully, full responsibility for 'the good ship Movie'. Rant ended.
"I've Never Seen A Western That Did That": Even Kurt Russell Was Surprised By Bone Tomahawk's Story & Violence That Led To 93% RT Hit
I've had the Bone Tomahawk dvd at home for a long time but have viewed it only twice because it's a hard-hitting and horrific watch, in my opinion. However, the four and five-star accolades are well deserved. As bizarre as the plot is, the convincing performances by the cast, astonishingly debute-directed by S. Craig Zahler who captured the intense atmosphere perfectly made it for me. The 18-year-old rating is well advised.
Ridley Scott Explains Why Stanley Kubrick's Greatest Movie Of All Time Is An "Act Of Genius"
HAL was the product of human ingenuity seeded by the first and second monoliths. HAL was programmed to fulfil the mission of creating Europa to oversee the next layer of human evolution...for what it is worth. The film was advanced and about interdimensional translation.
Pulp Fiction's Original Ending Was More Violent, Samuel L. Jackson Shares Details About Quentin Tarantino's Initial Script
...great movie but plot unresolved despite the alternative ending; therefore, imperfect!
