Stone Cold Steve Austin was part of it I think the Rock would make a good villain in the franchise

Just because you can make a movie based upon icon characters that are now in public domain doesn't mean you should, As a fan of horror movie I actually like to see new horror characters but there's movies usually are great enough to sustain sequel status, We need creativity and new characters altogether not rehashed children's characters.

I think the name change was more inline to what happened back then, many immigrants names were changed by officials such as last name changed to area where from or even professions etc

The 90s show has to be it's own show not another version of the 70s show, sure there are similarities but it's the differences that made the show good, I hope another network picks it up I actually liked it, I did like that 70s show much better but this show doesn't have to rely on its predecessor to be good, Site it's fun to see what happens with the original cast but even better to put less focus on them and focus on the new cast and not try to find ways to link them
