Very well written, I think the concern about gamification of the building blocks of civ are a valid concern. It started in 6 with the way they did the eureka and district mechanics and are continuing it in 7 with a large number of choices they have announced. Everything I have read makes it seem less like they wanted to make a cov game and more like they wanted to make another game and decided to use the civ brand.
