I think it's a great idea. I was hoping they'd bring George back either in some sort of flash backs, or having a twin brother that was estranged from the family or whatever.

Maggie is strong and courageous. She would not give Ella to the uncle because she's a "traumatized child." Maggie realized that being an FBI agent put Ella in danger when she saw Ella's pictures on a criminal's wall that she had arrested. If Maggie was leaving the FBI she would have taken Ella with her. Maggie won't have children of her own for the same reason. Too dangerous a job to bring a child around.

When Maggie saw pictures of Ella on a criminals wall it became more real to her that these wackos can get to Ella. Also Maggie realized that being an FBI agent puts Ella in harms way. Maggie would not have children of her own for the same reason. If Maggie was leaving the FBI she would have kept Ella. Maggie's courageous and wouldn't give up Ella because she was traumatized.
