If he does the work and gains the weight, I think put him in a more comic accurate costume and make him the batman for Gunn's universe. Batman can look the same without it being the same iteration of the multiverse, then they could still do the Reeves movies the way they want without effecting anything .

This is the best choice for Batman. Just need to darken his hair. He made a good Aquaman in Smallville but we need a long haired bearded Aquaman and though he has the hair color he may be to big and wouldn't look right in a wig.
Also, the reason the marvel movies have been a lot more successful imo is that there major heros or spiderman hulk X-Men etc were owned by other studios leaving them to pull from there B roster which I think allowed them to flesh out the characters on screen in a way they wouldn't have been able to with the bigger heros. Mainly because the people who didn't like comics didn't automatically see them as exclusively comic character and for the comic lovers to final see some of these characters on screen. I think DC should do this starting with leaser known heros
