Thank you for such a thoughtful and helpful discussion about IT and Stephen King. I am not a Horror movie fan, except when it comes to Stephen King. I am reading IT now and I was hesitant in the past- bc of the sex scene with Beverly- but I get what he is saying and it helped me. I also completely agree that that's the most controversial thing to people- not the rampant child abuse , death from child abuse horrible abuse in general and bullying and just overall children missing and dying. It shows a lot about our society in general. That we are so charged with our moral grandstanding we miss the point of how as a society - there is so much freaking trauma for a lot of children. And it goes unnoticed bc we are so caught up in our version of right and wrong.

I think I connect to his work bc I also grew up in Maine and had a crappy childhood. ❤
