I don't like it...I don't want the real character messed with. They lost that right when they chose her to die in his circles. It's also the moment that gives him more depth as a character we feel for whose pain we understand. As much as I hated her death and the reason why...this creates a story and legend for decades because of it...her ghost and memory has haunted his universe and fans since. I am not a fan of rewriting history...it's what we learn and grow from...the good and the pain/bad

Agreed 💯! What they never realized is that Gwen was the real counterparts to the craziness of what Peter dealt with in Spiderman's world and loved him for who he was...it was never about spiderman. Gwen was his rock and foundation..Mj was always the party girl and it was only after Gwen died and the last few s/pages of gwens death...to console Peter...when he lashes out and explains to MJ and the reader...that Gwen was the real part of his life and his foundation for his sanity...that we see MJ Be there for Peter and not herself as he calls it like it really is. After that...marvel writers went the opposite direction and gave MJ the traits that were loved about Gwen...they had it backwards ... I always loved Gwen for who she was...the real Gwen...not the cheat code versions with multiple universes or spider gwens or clones...

The readers and fans loved Gwen like Peter did because she wasn't MJ and for who she was ....they never got that which is why her death shook everything up.
