*sigh* I've said it before and I'll say it again, video games ruined the way fans understand the Force. There isn't a literal light side and dark side to the Force there is the Force and then when people like the Sith corrupt it and use it in unnatural ways that's the "dark side."

That's why George Lucas himself clarified that bringing balance to the Force meant getting rid of the Sith altogether. It doesn't mean half light half dark it means all light and NO dark. Lucas said the light side IS balance.
