See AllMarvel Finally Puts a Number on Spider-Man's Maximum Strength
This was what I ed, I thought he seems to have lost a bit of strength if he's now topped out at 5 tons.
The Boys' Creator Thinks You Missed the Point of Watchmen
Honestly, putting Watchman even in the same catagory with The Boys, is like putting Interstellar in the same catagory as Ice Pirates. They share genres, but not execution and quality of story telling are just not the same.
One succeeded at really changing the landscape of superhero books at a time when they were trying to find their footing as a direct market item instead of mass market. No longer the books of children that bought them off spinner racks at the local 7-11. But transitioning to a more mature market ed by adults with discretionary income.
The other was a look at "Superheroes gone wild" Basically an Elseworld of "What if Superman was raised in a government lab" it wasn't really a new take by that point, We'd seen it in Elseworlds, in Mainstream comics with DC's own Ultraman, and Hyperion in Marvel. It also takes the whole "Heroes for Profit" from Booster Gold's original concept. There isn't really anything new or groundbreaking in The Boys just tropes we've seen for years pressed into a kind of iffy edgy 90's antihero story.telling. 🤷♂
It's not terrible, but it's hardly the last word in Superhero comics, it's barely even deconstructive, it's more dark parody.
Never discount the ability of readers to understand what they are reading, but also don't expect the readers to agree with your thoughts, they are used to sifting out the trash from the content they are looking for.
The Harshest Reality Of Rewatching Monk 20 Years Later Is Also The Reason The Show Was Good
Wife and I did a rewatch of Monk towards the end of last year, after watching the Monk Movie. We both found we really enjoyed it (it holds a lot of sentimental value for wife as she and her father would watch and discuss the episodes online when it ran the first time. Her father died April of last year.)
To me it brings back memories of watching Columbo as a kid, the aesthetics are different, but that dogged determination. "Just one more question.." It always made me feel like if they were after me, I'd just turn myself in to not answer any more of the constant questions.
The Harshest Reality Of Rewatching Monk 20 Years Later Is Also The Reason The Show Was Good
So true, I was saying this about a comedy the other day. It's nice to watch a comedy show where you don't occasionally feel like you are watching a drama. One that isn't serialized, that I can turn on and know I'll get a few laughs or at least chuckles out of. I mean I love serializdc TV for the most part, but at times it gets overwhelming and it really makes renew/cancel time of year a nail biter.
The Electric State Review: I Think The Russos’ New Netflix Blockbuster Might Actually Be Harmful To Movies
But, he said that if someone likes it they are tricking themselves, they actually didn't like it but can't realize it because their brains sense of nostalgia and familiarity are feeding their enjoyment, or something like that.. I could only make it about 1/2 way before my brain started reading the words in the voice of Comic Book Guy from the Simpson's and had to stop because I was getting the Black Shakes.
I Can't Believe Captain America: Brave New World Looks Like It Killed Off A New MCU Superhero Right In Plain Sight A Year After They Got Their Own Marvel Film
Well, to be fair in the source material faking death is almost as old as Superman. 🤣
