I would argue that it seems more likely everyday that we will eventually get a complete Berserk animated series. I've seen the popularity of this series grow at an exceptional rate since I first came across it back in 2003. Just don't expect it to happen anytime soon.

Although the previous animated outings have had their issues, it's not hard to understand why the creators made the decisions they did. Sometimes that means a reliance on still images or defering to 3D models in order to save time and money. One of the first things animators do when adapting a series from manga is simplify and unify the design. Any adaptation of Berserk moving forward will have to wrestle with those compromises.
