I STRONGLY disagree, as the Laris relationship left hanging is one of the faults I give season 3. I completely expected Picard to tell his friends "one last round" of cards, and in the post credits scene, it shows Picard meeting Laris on the moon she told him she would be. It would have made a fantastic send-off of the character as well as showing that he had finally grown and moved on.
