Like the comment below says, it's all really subjective. Some people can tolerate different things in there watching experience. For me some of these are just standard fair when it comes to longer or older animes , but the one trope about ending when couples get together isn't really that valid because is in a lot of romance/slice of life anime the point isn't the couple but how they developed to get to being a couple .

Like Kai says below they are going of the TV show romance. Also as far comics go , in Justice Society, they (Hawkman and Hawkwoman are alive and together) but yet he's also on a team with Kendra, the Latest Hawkwoman. Also to your second question ⁉ Needs a little elaboration, unless you mean in the cartoon where elongated man appears but no relationship with sue.
