A UK retailer is claiming that there will only be a limited amount of stock available for the PS5's still slated to come this holiday season, but Sony has every reason not to invest in too many consoles at launch.
There is evidence to suggest that Sony will be limiting PS5 pre-orders to one system per customer. An recent PS5 pre-order s also suggested that consoles will be limited to one per customer.
A new email sent out by UK retailer Simply Games (courtesy of PlayStation Fanatic) is claiming that the PS5 might not be going on general release to stores, due to limited stock being available at launch. The email claims that the only way to get a PS5 at launch will be through pre-orders and that fans should their interest as soon as possible so that they are guaranteed a chance at pre-ordering a system when it goes live.
There are rumors surrounding the launch information of the PS5 and it's believed that Sony will hold a major reveal event for the system during the first two weeks of September, so there is a chance that we could find out more information soon. The PS5 is due to be released in a few months, so Sony will have to announce a price and exact release date soon if it wants pre-orders to go live.
It's entirely possible that the email sent out by Simply Games is a cheap ploy to get people to pre- their interest in the PS5, so that they can be sent promotional emails in the future. With that being said, there is a lot of information to the idea that the PS5 will have limited stock at launch, so people should keep an eye out for when pre-orders go live for the system.
The PS5 is due to be released during the 2020 holiday season.
