A new teardown video from PlayStation 5 console looks like on the inside, providing a detailed examination of the next-gen system's various internal components. The design and size of the PS5 has been something of a talking point between gamers since it was revealed earlier in the year, and the company has largely kept the lid watertight on the specifics about the console's power and raw features - until now.

This approach has been so secretive that the price and release date of the PS5 were only officially revealed recently. Sony unveiled the next-gen console during the PlayStation Showcase live event in September, giving the world its first proper look at the system. What immediately jumped out was the  console runs incredibly quietly according to early previews.

Sony has published an official teardown video showing what the PlayStation 5 looks like on the inside. The seven-minute video provides an up-close look at the various components inside the next-gen console. This includes the large cooling fan, as well as other internal parts. Yasuhiro Ootori, Sony's head of mechanic design for the system, talks viewers through the different components as he removes the white side s and explains how the stand can be moved from the bottom of the PS5 to the side so it can lie down. The video also shows off two dust catchers that allow s to vacuum out the dust through special holes. Ootori's demonstration also suggests that every internal part can be removed separately, meaning repairs or servicing should be easier than in previous generations.

While this latest video reveals even more information about the PS5, there are still some things that remain a mystery. For example, Sony is still yet to reveal exactly what the UI and Create buttons do on the console's DualSense controller. The functionality of the buttons was even disabled during recent hand-on impressions, meaning that players have no real idea about what they might do.

Today's teardown video is just another piece of important information that has been revealed about the PlayStation 5 over the last few days and weeks. In fact, Sony has been in information overload mode ever since it officially unveiled the PS5 during the PlayStation Showcase after months of almost complete silence. But fans will undoubtedly be happy to get a good look at the insides of the next-gen console and see how it compared to the Xbox Series X/S.
