Released back in 2017, playing PUBG clones. PUBG Mobile's free-to-play model also allows more players to discover the game through app stores, and allows console PUBG players to check out PUBG Mobile on their devices completely free.
The decision of launching a mobile port of PUBG was clearly the right one, as PUBG Mobile became a huge success immediately after release, gaining 300 million s within the first year. PUBG Mobile was arguably one of the best and most versatile mobile games in 2018.
That progress hasn't stopped, either. Players are ing by the millions every month, and PUBG Mobile's growth won't be stopping anytime soon. However, PUBG Mobile does have some in-game differences from the PUBG on console or PC.
PC vs Mobile PUBG: Graphics and Design
The main difference when players think of PUBG vs PUBG Mobile is the graphics. PUBG Mobile is clearly a much lower resolution so it's optimized for most smartphones worldwide. Although players can change their graphics settings up to Ultra, the graphics still will not match PUBG on PC, and some devices will sacrifice frames for graphic quality. On the other hand, a PC can handle a much larger workload and will be able to run very high graphics settings up to a 1080p HD gaming experience. PUBG on PC will be much smoother than PUBG Mobile.
PUBG Mobile also lacks in the interior design aspect. There is little-to-no design inside houses, and a simple rug and shelf seems to be the only thing that decorates most interiors. Meanwhile, PUBG is much more detailed, with lots of additional decoration located around the walls and in the rooms. PUBG even adds extra small rooms like bathrooms or closet to fill empty space, whereas PUBG Mobile just leaves these spots open.
PUBG Mobile's Additional Features
One feature that PUBG Mobile has is visual audio cues. When a player shoots or walks around, it'll be shown on nearby players' minimaps, even if their device is on silent mode. This allows players to know where an enemy is, making it easier for PUBG Mobile players to locate and fire at opponents. Another location-based feature is the blood marks on a player's screen. If a player is shot at and hit, they will get a red mark on their screen in the location at where they were shot from. This lets players quickly turn to eliminate their opponent, or to run away and find cover quickly without needing to worry about where their enemy precisely is.
Another feature that PUBG Mobile has and PUBG doesn't is the auto pick-up. Players can customize this to pick up certain amounts of ammo, attachments, and which guns to pick up. PUBG players on console do not have this advantage, and will have to use headphones to figure out enemy locations. They will also have to loot slower since they don't have auto pick-up, and may not be able to loot as quickly as PUBG Mobile players can.
Gun & Vehicle Mechanics In PUBG
Controlling guns and recoil in PUBG Mobile is a very easy task as opposed to PUBG on PC or console. Guns like the AKM, M416, DP-28, and more can all easily be controlled, even with a 4x scope. However, in PUBG, it is much more difficult for players to control the recoil on the same guns. If a player were to switch from PUBG Mobile to PUBG, they would definitely not be used to the huge recoil difference, and would have a hard time getting accustomed to it.
Every player has had a time when they flipped over in a car and died. In PUBG Mobile, that is much less likely to happen due to the much easier car mechanics and controls. Due to optimization, vehicle physics have been toned down a bit to help the game run smoothly. This means bumps and hills should not worry players too much, as it is much harder to die from hitting the ground hard or running into an obstacle when driving in this PUBG version.
Customization In PUBG & PUBG Mobile
Customization is a big factor for players who care about winning in style. PUBG Mobile contains much more customization options for players than PUBG does. Clothes, vehicles, guns, and parachute skins are all examples of what can be customized to a player's liking with the many skins that PUBG Mobile has to offer. Whether someone uses the free crates that are obtained through playing the game and completing missions, or spends some money to buy certain skins they want, there is something for everybody and their aesthetic. If a player who was used to PUBG Mobile's customization options switched to PUBG, they would probably miss the many skins that PUBG Mobile had, even though PUBG does offer plenty of customization options itself.
PUBG Mobile's Many Game Modes
PUBG Mobile offers more game modes to players than PUBG does, with Arena, Playlab, and War being included. PUBG Mobile also has rotational modes for players to enjoy at different times. PUBG simply has Team Deathmatch aside from the classic Battle Royale. PUBG Mobile also has Ranked Solos, Duos, and Squads instead of being unranked. PUBG only offers Ranked Squads, so Solos and Duos are purely unranked, although Ranked Solos are coming.
The Training Mode in both games is also slightly different. PUBG Mobile has Training Camp, while PUBG has Camp Jackal. Camp Jackal is significantly larger than Training Camp, meaning practicing long rang battles and driving cars will be much easier on PUBG. However, players can still use Training Camp to practice their mobile aim and driving skills.
PUBG Mobile players should try out PUBG at least once, and likewise for PUBG players. If players from both communities are able to play the game on the opposite platform, they can weigh in the pros and cons themselves and figure out which game they like best. This is a great way to know which game is best for somebody's playstyle, because everyone is different.
