On Instagram, Taran Tactical Innovations shared photos of live-action Punisher actors Bernthal and Jane together.

Both actors were present for tactical training, something they are used to due to their time playing the Punisher, with the post's subtitle asking "who wants to see the training day videos?" Bernthal and Jane meeting is very exciting, and the fact that two Punisher actors were at the same place for tactical training at the same time is definitely intriguing.

Will Jon Bernthal & Thomas Jane's Punisher Ever Unite In The MCU?

Jane has not officially played the character since his 2004 film; however, the actor did return as Frank Castle in 2012's The Punisher: Dirty Laundry, a short fan film he produced, and which the actor claimed was a "love letter to Frank Castle & his fans." That level of ion seems to point that Jane would be more than willing to return as Frank Castle in the MCU, should Marvel come calling. With the announcement that Bernthal is returning as the Punisher in Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again, the two live-action Punisher actors could be meeting soon in the MCU.

The fact that both actors were at the same place, at the same time, for tactical training just as Bernthal's Punisher training started for his return as the character is certainly intriguing. It would not really make sense for Jane to be playing another version of the Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again, however, as the MCU series should be one of the universe's more grounded adventures. This would rule out a multiverse plot. Jane could be ing the action as a different character altogether, if he is somehow connected to the series.

Even if the meeting between Jane and Bernthal was nothing but a coincidence, there is still a real possibility for the actors to meet as their versions of the Punisher in the MCU. Marvel is currently undergoing its Multiverse Saga, with Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness showing that different versions of the same hero can interact in the MCU. Bernthal and Jane's versions of The Punisher could come together in the sprawling event movie Avengers: Secret Wars, which is said to include several live-action heroes from Marvel's entire movie history.
