For years, the Thanos became a major part in the Punisher’s life, Frank Castle suddenly lost his longest-running battle with Daredevil.

Frank Castle became the Punisher after his wife and children were gunned down during a shootout between rival gangs. From that point on, Castle decided to use the skills he learned in the military to become a vigilante and deal deadly justice to those who are guilty of atrocious crimes in New York City alongside more lenient superheroes like Daredevil. However, Castle’s life drastically changed once more when Thanos launched a full-scale assault on Earth in the Thanos Wins storyline. In the battle, the Punisher was killed and his soul was sent to hell, which is where he made a deal with Mephisto to return to Earth as the new Ghost Rider. When he returned to life, however, he found that Thanos had already won and the world was void of life. After Castle traversed the Earth’s landscape completely alone and unable to die, Galactus appeared, consumed the Earth, and made Frank Castle his new Herald–Cosmic Ghost Rider.

In Cosmic Ghost Rider #4 by Donny Cates and Dylan Burnett, a future version of Thanos goes back in time and brings Cosmic Ghost Rider back to his alternate future. In this storyline, Cosmic Ghost Rider the future Thanos made in Punisher's name and even its that not everyone who does something wrong deserves to die, a sentiment that completely goes against everything he used to believe.

Punisher lost to Daredevil because of Thanos.

When the Punisher tells Thanos that criminals and evil-doers deserve a chance to be forgiven and redeem their wrongful actions, he is itting that Daredevil was right all along. For years, Daredevil tried to tell the Punisher that killing criminals wasn’t the answer, that everyone deserves a shot at redemption no matter how bad they are. Frank’s opinion of the matter was that anytime a hero lets a villain live, they are just allowing them to commit another crime in the future. The Punisher took pride in eliminating bad guys for good and thought heroes like Spider-Man or Daredevil could never be truly good heroes. However, when his ideals are taken to their fullest extent through, the Punisher sees how wrong he truly was–leading to him basically itting that Daredevil was right.

The Punisher’s hypocrisy isn’t lost on Thanos in this issue either. When the Punisher scolds him about his barbaric treatment of criminals, Thanos replies by saying those words feel hollow coming from him. The Punisher dedicated his life to killing evildoers, so for him to tell Thanos that what he was doing is wrong even though it is just an extension of the Punisher’s own teachings was laughable to the Mad Titan, and even to readers themselves. It seems as though the Punisher can’t handle a taste of his own medicine, so because of Thanos, the Punisher loses his longest battle with Daredevil.
