Warning: Contains spoilers for Scarlet Witch #4!!Quicksilver is easily Marvel's most recognizable speedster, but he's never necessarily been the fastest. Now, he has pushed past former boundaries for the sake of saving his sister, the Scarlet Witch, and unlocked previously unknown speeds. Pietro Maximoff isn't just fast - he's "scatter a cosmic being's essence across time" fast and at the top of his game.
In Scarlet Witch #4 by Steve Orlando, Jacopo Camagni, Frank William, and Ariana Maher, the Griever meets her end at the hands of Wanda and her family. Pietro has already held his own against the Griever alongside Polaris and other allies, but she becomes the catalyst for accessing previously unfathomable speeds.
At Wanda's urging, Pietro races across the world at speeds that threaten to tear him apart. Even with his arrogance, he isn't sure he'll survive it. When he at last makes with the Griever, he achieves such speed and force that one hit is enough to disperse the Griever at the End of All Things across time.
Quicksilver is Fast Enough to Scatter Souls Through Time
Scarlet Witch #4 by Steve Orlando, Jacopo Camagni, Frank William, and Ariana Maher
Flash and several of DC's speedsters use the Speed Force and have a good deal of experience moving through or against time itself, but Quicksilver's brand of speed is often depicted as more of a "feet on the ground" ability. It affects every aspect of his life, and he can't separate himself from him at will. His speed has limits, historically, and he clocks in at around Mach 10 at his top level, while others in the Marvel Universe can get closer to light speed. Pietro has never personally claimed an upper limit, however, and the right push can clearly inspire him to go further and faster.
It's hard to put a number on turning a cosmic entity into timestream glitter, but whatever that number is, Quicksilver hit the mark.
Although an exact speed isn't given as Pietro barrels toward his twin and her foe, even the egotistical speedster begins to worry that he might not survive the attempt. His suit and shoes shred away from his body as he runs, and he its to feeling fatigued as he runs. He's well beyond that presumed Mach 10 threshold. Although Wanda has primed the Griever with a nasty hex, it's Pietro's inconceivable speed that does the real work of finishing her off. It's hard to put a number on turning a cosmic entity into timestream glitter, but whatever that number is, Quicksilver hit the mark.
Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch Enhance Each Other’s Power
The battle against the Griever unlocks a whole new tier of speed for Quicksilver, putting him on the same time-dabbling level as Flash, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's always accessible. He is operating in extreme circumstances to save the only person in existence who can coax that level of determination out of him, but the fight still reveals what he's capable of. Wanda and Pietro's powers are intrinsically linked - precisely as the Griever originally feared. Together, they are greater than they are apart. Quicksilver has unlocked God-like levels of speed to aid the Scarlet Witch and defeat her intimidating cosmic foe.
