With 6: Siege - The Board Game, Mythic Games aims to provide a "fast-paced asymmetrical" experience, wherein players stand on the side of the Attackers or Defenders. To successfully complete mission objectives, players must tactically coordinate their squad of Operators. Some Operators will prove more useful than others on certain maps; thus, akin to Rainbow Six: Siege itself, Operator selection will serve as a crucial step.
Given how quickly 6: Siege - The Board Game eclipsed its funding goal, it's clear to see that fans are excited for a new way to experience Rainbow Six's tactical mechanics. How the tabletop game will appeal to players once the full release becomes available remains to be seen, though.
Rainbow Six: Siege originally hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2015. Regular content updates have kept the live-service going for several years, of course. And free next-gen upgrades went live in December 2020, offering PS5 and Xbox Series X|S s boosted frame rates and enhanced resolution options.
