The characters of Ratched may not be able to perform spells or fly around on broomsticks, but there is no doubt that they have very clear and distinct personalities and traits. Because of that, if they were placed into the wizarding world, it would be clear which Hogwarts house that they belonged to.
The series proved to be incredibly popular, and with so many vibrant characters with over-the-top characteristics, it became a lot of fun to watch. Of course, there is an eerie element to the series running through it, and while a lot of the show might be focused on trying to pin down people's mental states, here is how they'd fit into the world of Hogwarts.
Slytherin: Governor George Willburn
Governor George Willburn isn't a particularly nice person, with the version that the public sees and how he is, in reality being incredibly different. However, there's no doubt that he is a smart person, which is how he gets himself in the position of power to begin with.
This is what makes him a good Slytherin, as they're typically smart enough to excel at anything they put their minds to. On top of that, he is also a leader, which is something else that people in this house tend to end up becoming due to their personalities, even if they're not really thinking of others.
Gryffindor: Huck Finnigan
The vast majority of the characters in Ratched all operate within a shade of gray, having both positive and negative characteristics. However, Huck Finnigan is a real exception to that list, as he is one of the true heroes of this series, and someone who audiences were able to gravitate towards.
He is kind, caring, and incredibly brave. He's happy to help out in any situation, and while he may not always have the greatest self-belief, and he may not be the smartest, the fact he doesn't give up on life is what would make him an excellent Gryffindor.
Slytherin: Edmund Tolleson
Edmund Tolleson is seen as the main villain of this series, mainly because of the danger he brings to others. He kills people and has no real emotion about doing it, which is why Lucia State Hospital is the best place for him.
However, Edmund constantly manages to outdo those who try to trap and imprison him, which showcases that he is resourceful and smart, which is the case for many Slytherins. He is also incredibly powerful, which also tends to be the case for those within this house.
Hufflepuff: Lenore Osgood
One of the major traits that Lenore Osgood has is patience, and that is something that those in Hufflepuff tend to excel in. She is also someone who spends the entire series seeking revenge on Dr. Hanover after what he did to her son, and that need for justice also makes her a Hufflepuff.
People in this house tend to value justice and loyalty above everything else, and they're two traits that she absolutely has when it comes to her son, even if he doesn't feel the same way towards her.
Ravenclaw: Nurse Dolly
People who find themselves in the Ravenclaw house can be quite eccentric and unique, and that is certainly Nurse Dolly. She is attracted to the patients inside the hospital, which leads to her relationship with Edmund Tolleson, despite the fact she knows he is a murderer.
She often shows great charm and wit as well though, which is another trait of a Ravenclaw. Nurse Dolly is also a lot smarter than she might seem on the surface, as she is clever enough to create the plan with Edmund to help them both escape, which is not as easy as it might seem.
Gryffindor: Gwendolyn Briggs
Gwendolyn Briggs is someone who would certainly fit into the Gryffindor house. She's not a perfect person, which is the case for most people in this house. However, she is someone who works incredibly hard and is able to know her true value, which is crucial to being a Gryffindor.
Just like most witches and wizards who end up in this house, Gwendolyn is someone who cares for others and tries not to hurt people. She is brave and happy enough to express her romantic feelings and sexuality, despite how it may be viewed at the time period this show is set in, and those characteristics would place her into the Gryffindor house.
Slytherin: Henry Osgood
Henry Osgood is someone who believes he is better than everybody else, and he has no problem in letting people know that. That is something that some Slytherins suffer from (with Draco Malfoy being a prime example of that), but ultimately, that leads to his downfall as he loses all of his limbs after he tries to drug Dr. Hanover.
However, while he comes across as very smug and arrogant, Henry is also very intelligent. He plans away in the shadows, and ultimately he is able to kill his own mother, which is exactly what he wants. But it is the manner in which he does that, in a very sly way, which makes him a true Slytherin.
Hufflepuff: Mildred Ratched
Nurse Mildred Ratched is the lead character within this series, and she is someone who proves to be incredibly cunning. She's one of the smartest characters in the show, and she certainly knows how to play the game in order to try and get what she wants.
Ultimately, that is to get her brother back. Everything she does is with Edmund in mind, proving she is incredibly loyal, which is one of the main characteristics of a Hufflepuff. People in this house are very loyal, and considering the amount of work that Mildred has to put in to get back to Edmund, there's no doubt that she is exactly that.
Ravenclaw: Dr. Richard Hanover
A case can be made for Dr. Richard Hanover being both a villain and a hero, as he has moments where he clearly wants to help others, and he is certainly an intelligent person. That is something that makes him a Ravenclaw, as people in this house tend to be amongst the smartest witches and wizards.
However, the main reason that he would be a Ravenclaw is because of how inventive and creative he is. People in this house thrive on creativity, and that is exactly how Dr. Hanover works. While some of his ideas are barbaric and basically become torture, others do work.
Gryffindor: Nurse Betsy Bucket
At the start of the series, Nurse Betsy Bucket is seen in a negative light, which is mainly due to the fact her actions are blinded by her loyalty to Dr. Hanover. However, loyalty to people is a trait of a Gryffindor. And above all else, she is determined to do her job to the best of her abilities.
Determination is a core trait of any Gryffindor, and that is something that sums up Betsy. She gives 110% in everything she does, and while she can be a little argumentative, that is often a trait of those in this house as well.
