Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 has very few puzzles that players need to solve, but one, in particular, will appear futile unless players know exactly what to do. There’s a mysterious statue room inside the caves of a rock formation north of Valentine. While it’s not possible to uncover the story of how the statues got there in the first place, if players can solve the puzzle there’s a substantial reward awaiting them.

Before heading directly to the statue room, players need to find the mural that helps explains the puzzle, which is a ways off from the actual cave. The mural can be found at Window Rock by going North of Cumberland Forest in Red Dead Redemption 2. The mural features eagles with a certain number of feathers. The numbers come out to be 2, 7, 5, 8, 3, 4, 6. Arthur will sketch the mural into his journal upon discovering it.

Afterwards, Red Dead Redemption 2 players should head to the cave by heading east of Donner Falls and northeast of Bacchus station. Players will know they’ve come to the right place when they’re welcomed by a huge rock formation, IGN explains. They can locate the entrance to the cave on the side, behind the large tree.

How To Solve The Puzzle In RDR2’s Statue Room?

Red Dead Online Gold Bars

Upon entering the rock formation, Arthur will be greeted by a room full of eerie-looking statues. Seven statues of male figures are positioned in a circle around a smaller, female statue that has the wings of an eagle. Each statue has a button in front of it. In order to solve this  secret puzzle, players must take note of the number of fingers each of the seven male statues has, as it will be different for each. The arm of one of the statues is removed but can be found on the floor in the corner of the cave.

The digits come out to be 7, 6, 2, 4, 5, 8, and 3, which correspond to the number of feathers on the mural. From there, players should press the buttons on the four statues in which the fingers equal a prime number. So, players should press 2, 3, 5, and 7. They can do this in any particular order, making sure to only press these buttons.

After the task is completed, players can find a reward in the center statue. Once all of the correct buttons are pressed, a small will open that will reveal four gold bars for the taking, thus offering Red Dead Redemption 2 players a substantial reward for figuring out such a confusing puzzle. These bars can then be sold to a fence for a hefty sum — $1500 to be exact. Red Dead Redemption 2’s statue room is both creepy and confusing, but the reward definitely makes it worth the effort.
