While the latest episode of Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World was highly anticipated for one of the season's best moments, fans were not ready for what they were about to be treated to. The season quickly went viral and is on track to be this season's most popular episode yet, which is made more impressive given how amazing the second part of season 3 has been so far.

Re:Zero season 3 episode #13, titled The Warrior's Commendation, focused mostly on the battle between Garfiel and Kurgan after Subaru finished up his battle in the previous episode. While most of the fight consisted of Garfiel's inner battle, trying to move past the guilt of taking a life, he finally confronted the six-handed enemy in front and lunged at him. While the action was relatively short, coming in at under 1 minute and 40 seconds, the animation from Vincent Chansard was some of the best in the entire series and a strong contender for the best animated of 2025 so far.

While Re:Zero does have good fights, they were never on this level or as ambitious. The talent behind this amazingly choreographed sequence is none other than Vincent Chansard, a French animator who has made a name for himself in the anime industry. He is also a star in One Piece's anime, working on some of the series' biggest and best-animated fights, such as Zoro vs King, Luffy vs Kaido, Garp vs Kuzan, and many more. When he is not working on One Piece, he blesses other series with amazing scenes, such as Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Mob Psycho 100.

The episode exploded on social media for that amazing sequence, garnering millions of impressions on X (formerly Twitter) alone. Furthermore, it is quickly becoming the most-liked episode of the season so far on Crunchyroll, garnering 14 thousand likes in one day, whereas the other episodes would receive about 20K in one week. It is also the third-highest-rated episode of the franchise so far, and this is all in just one day.

Re:Zero's Best Content Is Still Ahead

While Garfiel overcoming his guilt and finally peaking as a character was definitely something that was highly anticipated, there are many better moments to come from the season. If they are given the same level of animation and quality as this episode, and if Vincent hopefully returns again, there is little doubt that Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World will be one of the strongest anime of the year. With season 3 going strong and the climax gradually approaching, there has never been a better time to be a fan of the hit isekai series.
