Maxwell Jenkins, who played a young Jack Reacher in Reacher season 1, addressed if he has been asked to return to the series. Reacher is one of the most popular shows on Prime Video and is based on Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels, which follow a former military officer as he gets mixed up in criminal conspiracies all across the United States. While Jenkins appeared as Reacher in season 1, he hasn't appeared in any of the subsequent seasons.

In an interview with ScreenRant for his Prime Video series The Bondsman, Jenkins states that he would love to return in Reacher season 4. He claims that he hasn't yet been asked to reprise his role as a young Reacher, but enjoyed working on the show. He also reveals that he still watches Reacher and is a huge fan of Alan Ritchson. Therefore, it wouldn't take much convincing for him to reprise his role. Read Jenkins' full comments below:

I haven't [had any talks], but Nick [Santora]'s awesome, and I loved my time on that set. I haven't had talks with them, but the show is great. I continue to watch it, and Alan is so fun to watch. I can't wait to see what that show has in store. If they need me back, I'll be there.

Will Reacher Season 4 Include Flashback Scenes Featuring Jenkins?

It Is Unknown What Novel Reacher Season 4 Will Adapt

While Jenkins would love to play a younger version of the titular character again in the Reacher season 4, it is currently unknown if he will be needed. During season 1 of the Prime Video series, many flashbacks featured Reacher and his brother Joe as children. In the flashbacks, Jenkins portrayed Reacher as a kid who wasn't afraid to stand up to bullies. This ended up getting him in trouble, as he got in a fight with the son of one of his father's superiors.

Reacher season 4 has been confirmed and production will begin this summer.

Even though there were repercussions for his actions, Reacher knew he was doing the right thing. These season 1 flashback scenes were important to establish what kind of character Reacher is, as well as his relationship with his brother. However, the following seasons of Reacher didn't require flashback scenes to his childhood. It is currently unknown what book Reacher season 4 will adapt, but depending on the choice, there is a chance that Jenkins will be asked to reprise his role.

Our Take On Jenkins' Comments About Reprising His Reacher Role

Jenkins Played A Convincing Young Reacher

Young Jack and Joe walk in Reacher

Since other Jack Reacher novels other than The Killing Floor, which is what season 1 was based on, include flashbacks and references to Reacher's childhood, there's a chance that season 4 will once again have scenes that feature a younger version of the titular character. If this is the case, it would make sense to bring Jenkins back. While some of the flashback scenes in season 1 were a little cheesy, if Reacher season 4's narrative needs more scenes from his childhood, then it would be great to have Jenkins back in the role.
