With the premiere season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City coming to a close, fans of the show are already expressing their excitement for season two. While there had been talk of low ratings, viewers of the show are demanding a second season for the new franchise. RHOSLC became the newest franchise added to the bunch when it premiered last November.
Housewives Meredith Marks, Mary Cosby, Heather Gay, Lisa Barlow, Jen Shah, and Whitney Rose were among the cast put together for the entertainment of viewers. Feuds quickly ignited, and shade was thrown in the first few episodes. Between Heather and Lisa starting off on the wrong foot, Jen and Mary's hospital smell catfight, and Meredith and Whitney's personal family issues, viewers had more than enough drama to last the season. However, there are reports of the show having low ratings. When fans brought these concerns to executive producer Andy Cohen, he agreed the show needed to come back for another season.
On Tuesday, January 19, Andy confirmed the show was greenlit for season two. "SLC Stans rejoice: Andy confirmed S2 on WWHL Aftershow tonight," a Reddit thread was titled. "Was so happy to hear Andy say that SLC will definitely be back for a second season after Danny Pellegrino gushed about it on WWHL tonight," the fan wrote. "I need more of these ladies in my life, and I think a second season with the same cast and one new wife will be ice hot." Another fan expressed the same sentiments while explaining why they feel the same cast needs to return for another season together. "I hope everyone is invited back. I feel like we need a 2nd season with this exact same cast to see how everyone fits in with each other," the Redditor explained.
Meanwhile, there were a few fans who discussed the possibility of Mary leaving the show and expressed why they felt it was a good decision. "I agree except for Mary, I really don’t think someone like her should be given the attention and money RH brings," the fan quipped. "She also doesn’t add anything, she doesn’t have any charisma or charm. And Whitney is the only person who seems happy will film with her anyway so won't be a great loss." Meanwhile, another fan shared their excitement for season two while expressing how "strange" they find the current cast. "I know everyone loves SLC. I think the cast is so strange but I’m excited for a season 2. First seasons always seem awkward, so I’m hopeful," they said.
Fans have made it clear how much they are ready for season two...as well as a few cast changes. The ladies of Salt Lake City are here to stay.
