Newcomer to The Real Housewives of Potomac Wendy Osefo is considering calling it quits after the explosive fight between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett. The Potomac spin-off of the Bravo hit franchise has risen in popularity since its debut in 2016. While there has been a fair share of drama between the ladies of Maryland, ranging from tax woes to affair allegations, none of the altercations have become physical until recently.

The tension between two newer cast , Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett, has been the season five storyline since the premiere in August. The rumor mill has been hard at work, with Monique being the center of the drama. In an earlier episode, it was revealed that Monique became physical with Candiace.

Both Monique and Candiace had assault charges brought against them, which were ultimately dropped. But the aftershock of the altercation has the rest of the cast still shaken up. Wendy Osefo, the newest housewife, is now questioning her role in the show following the fight. In an interview with Us Weekly, she shed some light on the situation saying, “I don’t know how it escalated to the point that it did, nor do I know why they got into an argument. It just doesn’t make any sense.” She continued, “There was nothing that was said in that moment that warranted that, not to say that anything warrants a physical altercation…we did not expect it to go there.”

Osefo, who has already had a few spats with Ashley Darby in her short time on the show, is beginning to wonder if she fits in this new world of the housewives, “That moment I sat and I said, ‘This is not what I signed up for…nor what I stand for.’” While the ladies of Potomac have been known to get into some heated verbal arguments, this one between Monique and Candiace is an outlier and may be too much for Osefo to handle. “Potomac, they’re not known for anything that is outside the bounds of women getting into squabbles and so I put that into my consideration when I was making the decision to the franchise. So for this to happen, I am so broken that I can’t believe this happened.” Osefo went on to say how the fight “put a wedge” in the ladies’ relationships, “You had to choose a side and it was a change in the entire dynamic for everyone.” Osefo chose to side with Candiace. “I wasn’t choosing a side based on the individual, I was choosing a side based on the act that I felt was egregious.”

It’s unclear Candiace now refusing to shoot scenes with Monique, it's possible the worst is behind them. Although, with the new group dynamics at play, audiences will have to wait and see how it all unfolds and whether RHOP will lose any housewives in the aftermath.
