Warning: spoilers ahead for Rebel Moon.
Summary
- The Homeworld in the Rebel Moon franchise may be Earth, connecting it to Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead universe.
- The two franchises, Rebel Moon and Army of the Dead, have a temporal disconnect, making it unlikely for them to cross over.
- Zack Snyder could potentially bridge the gap between the two franchises using a plot device like time travel.
The home of the Imperium in the Rebel Moon universe could be the first step toward tying two of Snyder's fictional universes together.
Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire landed on Netflix in December 2023, but Rebel Moon isn't Snyder's only active project with the streaming platform. Despite being disparate in tone and genre, two of Snyder's Netflix properties have been confirmed by the director himself to take place within the same universe. While it may seem difficult to connect the two worlds, Rebel Moon's Homeworld could hold the key.

Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon Timeline Is Huge, Goes Beyond The Movies
The thoroughly developed timeline for Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon is a massive map that goes far beyond what's covered in the movies themselves.
The Motherworld In Rebel Moon Could Be Earth (& Tie Into The Army Of The Dead Franchise)
Earth must exist within both Rebel Moon and Army of the Dead
Although there are aliens in the Rebel Moon franchise, the majority of the Rebel Moon is connected to his Army of the Dead franchise would mean the human characters in both sets of movies would share the same planetary origin.
There aren't many similarities between Rebel Moon and Army of the Dead, with the former being a space opera and the latter being a zombie action movie. However, the humans in Rebel Moon could be argued to be of Earth origin. For example, the Imperium uniforms are based on those worn by soldiers from wars fought throughout Earth's real-world history. Snyder's declaration that the two worlds exist within the same continuity confirms the fact that Earth must exist within the universe of Rebel Moon, and there's no reason it can't be the Imperium Homeworld.
The Rebel Moon Franchise Is Unlikely To Cross Over With Army Of The Dead
The two stories are set very far apart from one another
If it weren't for their creator openly stating that Rebel Moon and Army of the Dead shared a fictional universe, it would be almost impossible to tell so far. While Army of the Dead is set roughly in the present day, the events of Rebel Moon would seem to be unfolding much further in the future. As a result, there's currently a temporal disconnect between the two stories that feels difficult to overcome.

Army Of The Dead 2: Netflix Cancellation & Everything We Know About The Zack Snyder Sequel
Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead 2 has yet to materialize at Netflix after years of waiting, but will the long-awaited zombie sequel ever happen?
As a result, it seems unlikely that Rebel Moon and Army of the Dead will ever cross over. The gulf in time between the franchises would suggest that none of the characters from Army of the Dead would live to see the rise of the Imperium. If the characters in Rebel Moon were to reach their version of Earth, it's more likely that the events of Army of the Dead will have long run their course. However, Zack Snyder is nothing if not creative, and the introduction of a plot device such as time travel could more solidly cross the divide between Army of the Dead and Rebel Moon.
There are currently two movies from the Army of the Dead franchise on Netflix: Army of the Dead and Army of Thieves. Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire is also on Netflix, with Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver coming to the same platform in April 2024.
