An eagle-eyed Red Dead Redemption 2 ed over 43 million copies sold worldwide, making it the tenth highest-selling video game of all time.

There is no shortage of things to see and do in Red Dead Redemption 2’s vast open-world version of the American South and Midwest, and players are still uncovering neat details even four years after the game's initial launch. Many of these details have to do with Red Dead Redemption 2’s surprisingly realistic AI, with players researching the behaviors of the different horses Arthur can ride and noting how townspeople become understandably angry if their sleep is disturbed. Red Dead Redemption 2’s weapons are also surprisingly detailed, as shown when enemies gain black powder burns whenever Arthur shoots them with his shotgun in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Reddit NecessaryBar3568 recently noticed another interesting touch regarding Arthur Morgan’s weapons in Red Dead Redemption 2, namely the ammo that he stores on the bandolier slung across his shoulder. As illustrated in a pair of screenshots that NecessaryBar3568 posted to r/reddeadredemption yesterday, the bullets on the bandolier change depending on which gun Arthur has equipped at the moment, and other players in the comment section have pointed out that the number of bullets shown physically on the bandolier decreases with every shot Arthur fires - making it a good visual indicator of how many rounds the player has left.

While most of Rockstar’s development focus is likely aimed towards the recently announced the events of the first Red Dead Redemption (as RDR2 is a prequel) would be difficult given that the series is set at the tail end of the Wild West era, others have argued that a hypothetical Red Dead Redemption 3 could still maintain the previous game's Western genre during the Prohibition era of the 1920s.

In the meantime, it’s truly impressive how much detail Rockstar continues to put in its open-world titles like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. This is made especially clear in the latter, with fans discovering interesting new details in Red Dead Redemption 2 even four years after players first climbed into Arthur Morgan’s saddle to explore the wild and untamed open world of 1899.
